Ok, I am breaking up our trips into several posts to make it more manageable. WARNING there are LOTS of pics! The first 2 days of our trip we reserved a campsite at Emigrant Springs State Park. It is about 1/2 an hour away from Brian and Audrey's and it was a nice break from the long drive. We set up camp and had a nice but unseasonably COLD (30's!) first night!
Here is our home for the next week.
The kids
The park had a Jr Ranger program where they got to learn about owls. They got to make an owl out of a pinecone. I don't have a pic of the end product because the glue they had for them to use was not a quick drying glue and everything just melted right off but they had fun anyway.
They also played a game where they were blindfolded and had to listen and point to people to illustrate how owls found their prey.

Yay for warm sleeping bags!
After a nice big breakfast and campground showers we headed in to Pendleton to hang out with Brian, Audrey, Greta and baby Jade. The kids had so much fun just holding Jade and playing with Greta and her toys. They also played around with Brian's guitar, dartboard and skateboard and Audrey's photo computer program.
Cute sisters!
Megan introducing Greta to the joys of lip gloss!
Then we went to their local park. It is such a fun little park! The kids had fun running around and playing and Ben and I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't nearly 90 degrees! The favorite attraction was the little zip line. There was another family with 2 boys that the kids played nicely with. Ben even had to try the zip line once before we left.
Then we headed back up to the campground for dinner and smores!
We had such a good time visiting with Brian and his family!
The next day we got up and repacked the car to head out to the BEACH!
