A Work in Progress

OK, I am getting a little obsessed. I have put this link over with the others, but since I haven't found anything on this site that I haven't absolutely loved I wanted to put it in its very own post. Here is the link to some of the cutest free digital scrapbooking downloads:

Digital Scrapbooking

I'm getting interested in digital scrapbooking. I love real scrapbooking so I don't know how I will work the digital stuff into what I am doing but I like that you can create pages in moments. Anyway, because I have so much money invested in real scrapbooking I don't want to put a whole lot into digital so am looking for free options. As I find fun websites I am listing them in my fun sites column. Feel free to share if you know any good/free/cheap sites too.

Happy Birthday to Jordan

Monday was Jordan's eighth birthday! We had a family party that night. For our family parties the birthday person gets to choose an activity we can all do together and a restaurant for dinner. Jordan wanted to go golfing so we took them up to the local golf course and let them hit some balls. They all had a lot of fun so we will have to take them more often. Then we went out to a Chinese buffet for his birthday dinner. Then it was home for cake and ice cream and presents of course! I have been so busy this past week I had to break down and buy a cake instead of make one. So here is the store bought birthday cake. I let Jordan choose and instead of picking a birthday decorated cake he wanted the cookies and cream cake. (It was actually really yummy!) He got the new Kung Fu Panda PlayStation II game, the Alvin & the Chipmunks DVD, his own real tools and toolbox, a Nerf gun game and a couple other little things.

Happy Birthday Jordan!!!

Concussion #2

Megan got another concussion yesterday!!! She had been out on her bike for about 5 seconds when I heard the screaming. There is a board in the gutter across the street that they use to get up onto the sidewalk but somehow it had gotten moved out a little ways. So she went up onto the board and her tire got stuck between the board and the curb and she kept going. She had a helmet on but still managed to bonk her forehead just under the edge of the helmet. I didn't take her in to get scanned. I really think she's ok. Last time after they scanned her head they just had her sleep in the er for a couple of hours until she could walk and then sent us home with instructions to take it real easy for a week. This morning she did wake up too dizzy to walk and puking. (Just like last time.) She walking good now and the puking has slowed down. She already had road rash up her arm from another fall she took from her bike at the dirt hills and tons of other scrapes and scratches from playing this summer. I either need to wrap her in bubble wrap or let her be a gymnast, she seems to have the grace!

Congratulations Abby!!! (I think)

Last Thursday was the kid's last day of school. This was our conversation in the car on the way home:

Abigail said, "I got a perfect attendance certificate."

I said, "Oh, for the term?"

A: "No for the whole year."

I: "You weren't absent once the entire year?"

A: "NO, I was at school every day."

I: "Wow Abby that's great."

A: "Yeah, a lot of people were surprised. I told them that every time I was sick my mom just didn't care and sent me to school anyway."

She really didn't have any real sick days, she is having some asthma issues and coughs a lot but if I let her stay home every time she had an asthma day she'd miss 1/2 the year. I'm just a mean mom I guess!

The Baby

There are a few things that we eat that it is complete torture if we do not share with the baby of our family. Cheerio's, cooked vegetables (ex. broccoli), cheese, he loves to eat whatever we are eating. I don't always let him have everything but especially if we have vegetables with dinner and he doesn't get some he will cry and pout. Today we had chips and 7 layer bean dip for lunch. Abby had a few chips left at the end that she didn't want. When she asked if she should put them back or throw them away I said "Give them to Yogi." Yogi immediately turned around, spit the dog food that he was chewing out of his mouth and walked over to Abby. At least we don't set a place for him at the table!
