5,7,3,9,2

I think it's so cute to listen to little kids learn to count. I watched the nieces and nephews for a while this morning. Peyton and Megan decided to play hide and seek. Carter followed them around listening to them count to 10. Then I got to listen to him count. 1,2,7,4,9,5. Cute baby!

How Many Clothes Do They Need Really?

Keeping up with things around the house has been a challenge lately. I try to do laundry every Monday so people will at least have clean clothes! One Mon after Abby went to school I told Meg that if she would go gather all of the dirty clothes in their room I would have Abby finish the cleaning when she got home. A little while later I walked past their room and this is what I saw:

Seriously, how many clothes do they need?

More Soccer

Here are some pics of Megan and Abby's soccer games last Sat. Ben took a camera to Jordan's game but the batteries were dead! It was SO windy but they all played anyway. We took a few pics of Yogi because we thought he looked so funny in the wind. Abby played goalie for the second half. She actually did pretty good but her team is getting so good she really only had to block once. She got the ball. Her coach yells REALLY loud and its always fun to hear him yell "good job Abby!"

Abby's 1st game of the season

Abby had her 1st soccer game last Saturday. She is a great player but still lets the boys handle the offense! She loves playing defender. Not that that's bad I just want her to get the whole experience. I am hoping to spend all my free time (all 20 mins of it) this summer playing soccer with the kids.

Puppies

Yogi's second batch of puppies was successfully delivered last week. Seven puppies were delivered which is the largest litter for yorkies I have ever heard of. She was a little bigger. We probably won't see the puppies because the owners are a little crazy. It's good to know all involved are healthy and well!

Kite Flying Fun

OK, I don't know why but I love kites. I recall flying a kite or two as a kid but its not something I remember doing a lot. So, I buy kites every year much to Ben's dismay because they usually tear in the pain staking process of actually getting them in the sky while the kite string is in a child's hand. But about 6 weeks ago Wal-Mart was selling some colorful but small kites for $5, so I almost bought 3 (a fish, a dragon and something else really cute I can't remember) but upon thinking of Ben's reaction when I got home I decided I should only get one and settled on the owl. Finally today it was windy enough to fly kites!!! (We have had many a windy day, 1/2 of this town still has missing siding and the other 1/2 have tarps on their roofs!) Anyway, we went to the park after school and had such a fun time flying this kite. For $5 I am going to go see if they still have their other 3 designs. I also had a bigger kite with 2 strings that I could fly but the kids couldn't keep it up longer than about 30 seconds. But the small, cheap Wal-Mart kite, even my neighbor's 3 year old was able to fly! I had planned on about an hour at the park (yes, I have an exam tomorrow!!) but the kids had so much fun we stayed for 3 hours! Here are some pics of the kite flying fun.
And for those who might be interested, (Just don't tell Megan I told you.)
this little boy, Jared, has sort of turned into Megan's little kindergarten crush. He is in her class, lives just around the corner from us right next door to the park and his mom is an RN and works with Sheryl at the hospital out here. He is kinda cute!
Let's just hope she doesn't come home with a ring.

Easter

We had a calm, no frills Easter this year. Here are the pics of them with their baskets in their Easter clothes.

Dyeing Eggs

The kids had fun dyeing Easter eggs. This year I just decided to buy a whole bunch and throw away what we didn't eat. They did eat quite a few though. I think it will be a very long time before Abby eats another hard boiled egg.

Glasses

Abigail got glasses. Her vision isn't horrible yet but she wanted them anyway. Ben has pretty bad eyesight so hopefully getting them now will slow any future losses.

And the video of the chimp on the last post didn't work. Here is a picture of her. It is through glass so it is kind of fuzzy.
